Additional Bonus Packs
Recently people where talking about the divine aura and how stores dont stock them any more, So I commented on since the yadded the store and recent updates to the EULA talking about bonus packs, why not add an option to buy the Divine Aura.
Or even the backup dancers...
Some say Ye others Na
reasons why peopel say Na is "oh well then why did I pay 80$ for collectors edition"
a simple reason, the extras that are included in a package you bought from a store or online retailer.
Some people are willing to shell out some money for that divine aura, why not capitlize on the idea?
or will anet keep it a rairty? and force people to ebay with the chance of shady business people.
--
Oh and I'm for it, and a potential customer.

First of all; it was $70 not 80. The reason they don't sell them anymore is that the CE is released in limited pressings. Once they're gone they will never make anymore(with the exception of the Factions fiasco). The CE comes with things like divine aura as a special bonus for people that buy it in the limited time it is available. Making the CE bonuses available to people that didn't buy the CE later would defeat the concept of what a collector's edition is. I'm sure Anet wouldn't be stupid enough to sell them seperately anyway; and I'm glad.

I agree with Knight, one of the biggest reasons I know everyone of my friends bought the Collector's Edition was the exclusive factor that came along with it, not only is it cool to have things like the divine aura or the back-up dancers but it's even better when you consider a large majority of players don't have it.

when you think about it... is it really that cool.. the backup dancers to me show wasted money... rit backup looks lame.. the male assassin backups are the only decent ones.. and the weapons are not worth it if u ask me.

honestly, i only hope this doesn't happen. I bought the prophecies CE off of amazon stores a few months before factions added it to my standard edition prophecies (so i have standard and CE on one account) and did the same with factions. I wanted to be able to play factions without interruption while waiting for the CE's to come in so i bought the SE and CE of factions within 2 weeks of each other.
so basically i have a CE SE of both prophecies and factions tied to my main account with preorder bonuses on both.
I did not buy either CE solely for the art book, mouse pad, headphones, or whatever else it might have included. I bought it for the whole bundle, and primarily for the in game extras.
the collectors edition is for those dedicated and fortunate enough to be able to spend the extra money initially to support Anet. If they start offering the in game extras through the online store it will only serve to cheapen the value of those items and any kid with mom's credit card could get them.
... or something like that.

id like the store to have some of those features for sell, i dont think it would be cool to sell CE upgrade to your account since if you wanted youd had bought it, but id like to have upgrades for my SE account.
diferent dances, auras, faces, skins, even body frame so i can customize my chars better, other forms for guild showing would be cool too, like diferent capes for profession.
well i can dream cant i ? lol

Someone had made the comment of paying $80, I havent lookedup the actual prices... well... what extras you get from the 1st CE Northern Americas.
http://www.guildwars.com/support/gamecontents/
*Guild Wars Art Book: Hardcover
*Guild Wars Soundtrack CD: Music by British Academy Award winner Jeremy Soule
*Guild Wars Logitech Internet Chat Headset; Headphones and Microphone
*TeamSpeak (Speakeasy) Software installation disc (for use in in-game voice chat system)
*Guild Wars Installation Information Sheet
*TeamSpeak Installation Instructions
I know for sure that Speakeasy aint cheap, headset meh... was a cheap 15$ headset(found em @newegg)... and Soundtrack CD....
Europe has a Special Edition and Collectors Edition, whats the diffrences between themselfs and Standard Edition...
SE*Bonus Skill Pack Code: Unlock 7 skills, 1 Elite skill, 1 rune and 1 weapon upgrade
SE*Bonus Music Key: Free access to additional in-game music from Direct Song
SE*Guild Wars Art Book: The Art of Guild Wars Book 2; 72 Pages
SE*Map of Tyria; 600mm by 360mm, folded
CE*Guild Wars Art Book: Perfect Bound; 128 pages
CE*Guild Wars Internet Chat Headset; Headphones and Microphone
thats odd CE hardly has anything to offer compared to the special edition...(still no mention of divine aura yet)
Factions in the Northern Americas Collectors Edition extras...
CE*Soundtrack CD
CE*Double-sided poster: Map of Cantha and Factions Poster
CE*Art book
CE*Desk Calendar
CE*Mouse Pad
CE*Sticker Set
CE*Special In-Game Dance Emote for the Assassin and Ritualist
CE*Bonus Music Key
they listed the special emote... for assassin and ritualist...
Factions for Europe
CE*Cloth Picture
CE*Soundtrack CD
CE*Double-sided poster: Map of Cantha and Factions Poster
CE*Art book
CE*Desk Calendar
CE*Mouse Pad
CE*Sticker Set
CE*Special In-Game Dance Emote for the Assassin and Ritualist
CE*Bonus Music Key
Well perhaps there was an omission by the Guild Wars staff... but if it isnt listed as a content item within a certain package, have it for sale.
Please someone post links to Galie saying they wouldnt offer it for sale.
I still think CE is just for the headphones and extras, have the special emotes for sale, it is after all a new revenue stream.

I think it would be a great idea add the divine aura and other in-game emotes from the collector's editions to the guild wars online store. I have the glowy hands and don't mind sharing them with others. :-) The CE is exactly that: collectible. If you are obsessed with collecting things, you buy the CE (nice box, unique pieces of gear, art book, etc. all put together in special little package with the words "Collector's Edition" stamped on them) I look at it as the whole package itself being collectible -- not the individual things included. I think all things from the CE's would be great to purchase alone -- glowy hands, back up dancers, art book etc. Why not? I collect to have it -- not because other's can't. If I like it, I buy it. If I paid more for it initially, oh well. Heck, why not make the CE a discount? Charge more for the things in the CE individually, but have the CE be cheaper as a collection.

First of all, North America got the same Special Edition Europe did. The artbook from the CE is a full sized hard cover book; the one in the Special Edition is a flimsy paper pamphlet. The skill unlocks and direct song key from the special edition don't even compare to the CE.
At any rate, Anet would never sell the bonus items sepererately. You can try to reason and compromise with yourself here all you want, but it's still never going to happen. Divine aura was designed so four campaigns down the line the people that bought the Prophecies CE have something to show for being here since the beginning. You would have it so any kid can get it but Anet would never betray their more hardcore GW audience that always get the CE's. In the future, if you want any of the bonus items I would suggest you just buy the CE while it's still available. Nightfall is comming, maybe you should see if you want that.
